So the first week of Camdens life and ours looked like this. It was one of the craziest weeks of my life. First of all, it all started with me not being able to find a Dr in Vegas cause i was to far along for anyone to take me. I was just going to stick with my Dr in Cedar but decided that i didnt want to drive back and forth so much, and having perks with the St George hospital (my mother in law is the manager over the mom/baby floor and has an in with all the Dr's) i got a Dr there who would take me. And he was wonderful for the 2 times I saw him. The first time i saw him was when i was 32, maybe 33 weeks and it was a reagular check up. The next appt i had was whe i was 35 weeks and i met with his other Dr that works in his office and i told her i hadnt been feeling him move as much as he usually moves and i asked to be checked (which they usually dont start doing til 36 weeks). I was at a 2 plus and she sent me to get a stress test and told me to come right back after it to get re-checked. Everything was good, my fluid was right on the border of just having enough. I went back and was re-checked and i was at a 3. Keep in mind this entire time i had planned on just coming up for the day and going back to Vegas. Well the Dr wanted me to come in the next morning to get checked again just to be safe. So we stayed at my in-laws and i went back to the Dr the next morning and sure enough I was at a 4. He told me if I wanted I could go home but he was pretty sure I was going to be coming right back in. I went back and forth on "should I go, should I stay"? I decided to stay and that night i was having contractions pretty close, so my mother-in-law took me in and I was at a 4 plus. We called Ty in Vegas and told him to come and he came. They waited about another hour to check me and if i hadnt progressed they were going to send me home. And by this time i had called my parents so they were there at midnight, and I was going to be so mad if they sent me home. My contractions had also slowed down but the ones I was having were starting to hurt so I knew something was going on. They fianlly re-checked me and I was at a 5. They admitted me, I got the epidural as soon as I could so I could try to sleep...the sleeping part didnt happen til the next night. They Dr got to the hospital at 6 to brake my water and he had a surgery to do at 7, but thankfully our little guy came before the Dr had to go. He weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 19 inches. he was a good size premie. But not without complications. Since he was early, he had respitory problems and had to go straight to the NICU. They were unsure why he came as early as he did and now a-days they can test the fluid and see if anything was wrong and come to find out he had some type of pneumonia and my body just kind of rejected him. He was totally lathargic for a couple days cause he was so sick, he just slept. Didnt budge when they changed his IV's or his diaper. He was in there for a week but im so so thankful for his nurses. They were awesome! Since this was so unplanned, we were shuffling the older two back and forth from StGeorge to Cedar, which was hard on all of us. I was trying to balance the other two, pumping, the hospital, and no husband (Ty had to go back to work) all while trying to keep it together. I had a ton of help from my mother-in-law and parents. It was just alot to handle. I wish i could say that week long stay was the last of it but......
